Stopmakingme AKA Dan Avery has been a friend of ours for a while now. In fact, he even went to school with me (Joe), and all those years ago, the first time I saw him out of school was behind decks, in a mid-week alternative night in Bournemouth. From those humble (but very young) beginnings, he has risen to pay regularly at fabric and across the country.

He is a guy with a huge passion for music and DJing which goes far deeper and beyond playing the week’s biggest ‘bangers.’  His mixes sound great any time, any where and that is why we were so keen for him to do the first exclusive mix for our website.

He has also been bringing out some great remixes with singleton for artists such as Filthy Dukes and Little Boots. Here is his ‘June’ mix, it is a brilliantly thought through, varied but cohesive mix and, as seems to be typical of most of his mixes, includes a few of my favourite songs.

Here is a list of what will be coming out over the next few months. There are also quite a few remixes coming out soon so i’ll cover those in another post.

• Joe and Will Ask? - Fabric Of Win / Instrumental / Radio Edit / Late Night remix.

 
We are probably the most excited about this one. Probably going to be sub-licenced to a different, more well known label. Its our first solo production with full vocal from the amazing Becky SaintSaviour (RGBs, Groove Armada). It’s a housey, happy, summery track, obviously still keeping to our sound with odd edits and growly bass. 

• Joe and Will Ask? - Christ Martin.

A tribute to our friend Chris Martin.. No not the one from coldplay, god no, a different Chris. Very quirky and plucky. Still a work in progress, but we are going for something very original and unexpected with this one.

This one we are particularly proud of. This is a REAL techno track. deep, repetitive, with a haunting spoken vocal from one of our favourite artists of the past few years. Probably our deepest track yet, and a real honour to work with Mica!!

• Joe and Will Ask? - Yellowstone (new version)

We made this song for Fabric to promote our gig for Kill Em All last month. We had no idea how big the reaction would be. you will be able to find the current version by signing up to the FabricFirst blog, or just making a quick search on ‘hype machine.’ It’s a tech-progressive melodic roller. We are going to make a slightly updated and improved edit and bring it out on Gulp, Andrew Friendly’s label on which we reside

This is the blog section of our new website.  In the ‘News’ section, we will be keeping you up to date with what we are up to, new gigs, music, stories etc etc

In the ‘Joe and Will Ask? Blog’ section, we will be posting about things we like/hate/are interested in. Just a blog really. We will be getting DJs to do guest mixes for us, and whatever else we can come up with.
